What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair fleet of generators, engine powered construction heaters, and related equipment.
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
- Inspect motor in operation, and test electronic systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of generator systems including fuel system, engine, emission control and exhaust, electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized repair equipment.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
- Advise customers on work performed, general generator condition and future repair requirements.
- Contribute to a professional and safe work environment by keeping your workspace clean, and following all company policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be Journeyperson certified.
- Valid Class 5/G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Experience with generator service and repair is preferred but not required (will train).
- Expertise with diesel engines and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic tools.
- Must have own tools.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Available and willing to work overtime when required, particularly during peak seasonal demand (winter months).
- Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional manner.
- Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
- Highly safety focused
- Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology
- Must be able to perform field service work and be available for on-call scheduling as needed.
