Culture & Communications Specialist
The Culture & Communications Specialist is responsible to help shape, promote, and sustain a strong employer brand that attracts, engages, and retains top talent. This role plays a key part in bringing our culture to life—both internally and externally—through storytelling, events, recruitment marketing, and digital communications.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Employer Branding & Strategy:
- Develop and execute employer branding strategies aligned with company values, culture, and business objectives
- Ensure consistent employer brand messaging across recruitment, onboarding, internal communications, and external platform
Content Development & Storytelling:
- Create engaging content such as employee spotlights, testimonials, videos, and culture-focused campaigns
- Capture authentic stories from project sites, including:
- Apprenticeship and career progression journeys
- Superintendent and leadership profiles
- Women in construction features
- Highlight key themes including safety leadership, career pathways, training investments, and community impact
- Coordinate photo and video shoots, interviews, and site visits
- Partner with Operations and HSE to ensure all content complies with safety rules, PPE requirements, privacy standards, and client/project restrictions
Event Planning & Culture Programs:
- Plan and deliver internal and on-site events, including social events, themed weeks, new hire lunches, and retirement celebrations
- Support company-wide initiatives such as Safety Week in partnership with the EHS team
- Manage events and communications for the Physical and Financial pillars of the Wellness Program
- Continuously identify and introduce new initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and company culture
Talent Attraction & Recruitment Marketing:
- Create recruitment marketing materials including videos, social media content, job postings, and branded assets
- Manage and optimize recruitment campaigns for skilled trades, professional, and leadership roles
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on targeted hiring campaigns and career fair materials
- Maintain and update content across career sites, job boards, and recruitment channels
- Use analytics to track performance and improve campaign effectiveness
Digital & Social Media Presence:
- Manage employer brand presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and internal portals
- Monitor employer review sites and support reputation management efforts
- Track digital engagement and respond to reviews to reinforce a positive employer brand
Metrics & Reporting:

Track and report on employer brand KPIs including engagement, content performance, and employer review ratings

Provide insights and recommendations to continuously improve branding and communications strategies
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in employer branding, recruitment marketing, HR communications, or event planning
- Strong writing, storytelling, and content development skills
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns in a corporate or employer brand context
- Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools
- Experience producing digital content, including video and social storytelling
