What you’ll do
Are you a finance leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves while guiding a high‑performing team? As Manager, Finance, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, ensuring strong financial stewardship, and supporting organizational decision‑making through insightful analysis and reporting. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity where your expertise will directly support our important cause of powering the possible for child health across the province.
Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will:
- Lead Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee full‑cycle accounting, month‑end and year‑end processes, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for senior leadership, Committees, and the Board.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis: Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities, prepare complex investment budgets, and deliver meaningful financial and business analysis that supports strategic decision‑making.
- Ensure Strong Controls, Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain effective internal controls, oversee tax reporting, coordinate annual audits, and manage corporate insurance to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Provide Oversight of the Lottery Program: Lead the financial management of the organization’s lottery program, including budgeting, performance monitoring, and compliance with charitable gaming regulations.
- Lead, Coach & Develop the Finance Team: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and strong performance in a fast‑paced environment.
What you’ll bring
We understand that no single candidate will perfectly meet all the qualifications outlined for this job posting. The following highlights the qualifications we consider important:
- A degree in business or accounting and completion of a CPA designation program. This educational background is complemented by 7 years of related experience; experience in the non-profit sector is considered an asset.
- Detail-orientation with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multifaceted projects and a capacity to perform well in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Advanced competency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong understanding of inter-fund and inter-unit accounting; experience in fund accounting is considered an asset.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to produce quality work within tight time frames.
- Working knowledge of current GAAP, commodity taxes, charitable tax returns, restricted fund accounting as well as BC gaming regulations
- Familiar with Canadian legal frameworks for corporations and charitable sector statutory requirements
- A continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated experience working on process and technology improvement projects.

To help you power the possible and to support you in your health, well-being, and career growth, in additional to competitive compensation, we offer perks like a hybrid work environment (minimum of two days per week in office) and nine-day fortnight schedule, generous vacation, topnotch health and dental benefits, a health care spending account, a defined benefit pension plan, and a commitment to professional development.
The hiring range for this position is between $105,430 and $125,000. At BCCHF, we are committed to ensuring that compensation is fair and equitable. Your placement in the salary range will be determined by your experience, relevant skills, and qualifications as they relate to this role.
Please note that all team members of BCCHF are required to complete vulnerable sector criminal record check as a condition of employment.
