Kleysen is seeking aHealth and Safety Coordinator, for a3 MONTH****TERM POSITIONto actively participate in developing, training, and supporting our Yard, Trucking and Rail safety programs in our Edmonton facility. The position reports to the Manager, Safety and Health and will work closely with team members in Safety, the Operations leadership, and employees.

This is a 3 month TERM POSITION.

The ideal candidate will have health and safety experience with:

• Assisting in the creation of safe workplace procedures and best practices
• Participating in the development of safety systems, policies and training and competency assessments
• Conducting behavioral based observations, safety inspections and audits
• Conducting hazard analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations to determine root cause
• Supporting disability and return to work programs
• Identifying opportunities to support and enhance a Safety 1st culture
• Communicating and reporting on safety metrics to leadership and employees
• The successful candidate will require a reliable vehicle as our office is located outside of public transport

Qualifications:

• Preference given to candidates with health and safety experience within the transportation industry and/or liquid handling and product transloading
• Post-secondary education in health, safety, and environmental management
• Proven experience developing health and safety programs, procedures, training programs, internal audits, and inspections
• Working knowledge of Federal safety and environmental regulations
• Confident communication and problem-solving skills
