As a construction equipment mechanic foreman within Pomerleau's Civil Engineering & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and inspection activities of the heavy machinery used on Pomerleau worksites. Working on large-scale construction projects – ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars – you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of various projects.
What you will do

Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment (hydraulic excavators, cranes, graders, trucks, aerial work platforms, etc.).

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues.

Prioritize interventions based on site needs and deadlines.
-
Ensure that all interventions comply with manufacturer standards and Pomerleau’s internal policies.

Lead, motivate, and supervise construction equipment mechanics.

Assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
-
Train team members on procedures, best practices, and safety measures.
-
Apply and enforce OHS standards for all mechanical interventions.
-
Manage the inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.

Collaborate with external suppliers for parts procurement or specialized repairs.

Attend construction site meetings to plan equipment needs.
-
Provide technical support and advice on the optimal use of equipment.

Participate in the analysis of major breakdowns and propose improvement solutions.
This role could be for you if you have
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a foreman
- A valid CCQ journeyman card
- A valid driver’s license – Class 5
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong diagnostic ability and high autonomy
- Motivational leadership and good priority management
