About the role

Job Description:

We currently have a job opening for a Structural Engineer in our Kelowna office to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team active on structural projects with a focus on the bridge sector. This position will present many opportunities on a variety of tasks and our expectation will be for the candidate to lead bridge design, inspection and rehabilitation projects with the support of senior staff and further develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including:

  • Inspection and assessment of existing bridge structures for municipal clients

  • Design of concrete rehabilitation for municipal bridges

  • Design of municipal and highway bridges

  • Design of earth retaining structures

  • Tender package preparation including developing supplementary technical specifications for use with the MMCD contract document framework

  • Contract administration in accordance with MMCD

As the ideal candidate, you are an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through a range of projects focused on the delivery and management of structural projects. You will also have the opportunity to develop a career path focused on technical leadership, project management, client management, or a combination based on your career aspirations and qualifications.

Job Requirements:

  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Professional Engineer with EGBC
  • Minimum 4 years of Structural bridge engineering experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Committed team player and the ability to work independently

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
