Job Description
Working within a team based maintenance department, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to effective trouble shooting, repair, installation and preventive maintenance of the facility’s electrical distribution/control/instrumentation systems and equipment.
- Must be certified, 442A minimum with 309A a preferred asset.
- Must be available to work a reasonable share of over time and call-ins as required.
- Minimum of 3 years licensed experience including industrial installations.
- PLC/HMI trouble shooting experience.
- Safety training CSA Z462 or NFPA 70 – Electrical Safety in the Workplace preferred.
- Can work independently under pressure and complete tasks within the required deadlines
Responsibilities
Duties would include but not be restricted to the following:
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, flow diagrams and PLC code to trouble shoot, maintain and install electrical control systems and equipment.
- Maintain, repair, install and test electrical motors AC and DC, generators and battery back-up systems and their associated control systems.
- Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial automation equipment including PLC’s, HMI, Variable Frequency Drives, Temperature, Flow, Pressure controls and other related devices.
- Work closely with other maintenance team members to ensure the smooth running of the plant in a 24/7 continuous operation environment
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm.
- Be available for call-ins and overtime on evenings, weekends and holidays as required on a rotating basis
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises associated with the mill.
