Grade**:**SGEU.12.
The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission requires a highly motivated individual to develop, coordinate and facilitate standardized training, apprenticeship, and trade-related programs within Saskatchewan. This permanent position is in Saskatoon and reports to the Director of Program Development.
In this role, you will be required to develop a variety of certification and assessment examinations and their related products. Additionally, you will consult with federal and provincial counterparts to develop and coordinate standardized programs and examinations for use across Canada.
To qualify for this position, you must possess either a Bachelor's of Education, or a Journeyperson Certificate with some additional certification in adult learning. Experience working with boards and a background in examination and curriculum development is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's of Education in the selection process.
You will have knowledge of adult learning principles; test item construction techniques and test item analysis; plain language principles; curriculum development and evaluation methods; the apprenticeship and trade certification system and word processing software in a Windows environment.
Program Development Specialists establish, enhance and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; accurately assess and analyze a situations and arrive at a conclusion; influence, persuade and productively gain other’s commitment; orally communicate information in a way that creates understanding; organize, present and record information in a clear, concise, complete, accurate and timely; independently evaluate, plan, organize and prioritize a changing workload to meet objectives by making the best use of resources and manage meetings, record minutes and prioritize activities.
The selected candidate will be a team player who offers cooperation, collaboration and support; flexible, proactive and able to show initiative when working in a constantly changing environment and able to travel.
