Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation. This role involves maintaining payroll records, processing employee changes and deductions, preparing payroll reports, and serving as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities Process biweekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, leaves, and other employment changes. Calculate and process deductions, benefits, bonuses, overtime, taxable allowances, and other payroll adjustments. Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and other documentation as required. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial payroll legislation and tax regulations. Coordinate with Human Resources regarding employee changes, benefits, leaves, and entitlements. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information. Support additional payroll-related projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Minimum of 1–2 years of payroll experience in a similar role. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation, or progress toward completion, is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP, Payworks, or Dayforce. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations, deductions, and benefits administration. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
