Position Overview
The Asset Manager reports directly to the Director of Asset Management. In this pivotal role, you will oversee our commercial and mixed-use real estate portfolio, collaborating closely with our team to enhance portfolio value and performance. Your insights and analyses will drive strategic decision-making, ensuring we deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly ownership reports.
- Analyze monthly performance, financial, and variance reports, providing actionable recommendations to meet key benchmarks.
- Conduct market studies, forecasts, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
- Consolidate, interpret, and present property reporting, including weekly AM Reports, cash flow forecasts, annual budgeting, and property tax documentation.
- Conduct thorough analysis for acquisitions and dispositions.
Budgeting and Financial Management
- Assist in the annual preparation and approval process of property operating budgets.
- Assist with capital program scopes, timelines, budgets, financial tracking, and ROI analysis.
Relationship Management
- Develop relationships with third party and internal Property Management groups to ensure building optimization.
- Touring of properties to ensure business plans are going accordingly.
- Develop relationships with third party and internal Accounting groups to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Development relationships with third party and internal Construction groups to optimize Project and Capital Planning.
- Collaborate with the Real Estate Finance team during due diligence and onboarding phases.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Asset Management with a desire to expand knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent financial analysis skills and ability to work with financial concepts.
- Familiarity with real estate software such as Yardi is considered an asset.
