Network Administrator – ICAT Infrastructure

About the role

Job Description As part of the larger ICAT team and working under indirect supervision, the Network Administrator participates in planning, implementing, designing, analyzing, maintaining, and providing technical support for large, complex computer systems and data communication networks. The Network Administrator works as part of a group that is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of enterprise network infrastructure. This includes monitoring, maintaining and optimizing network system performance through the utilization of network management tools. Another component of this role is to contribute to a team-oriented work environment by sharing input, ideas and recommendations and participating with management and other team members on all projects as they relate to communications, infrastructure and collaboration.

What must you have?

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Computer System, Computer Networking or related field.
  • Active Cisco CCNA Enterprise certification is required. Active CCNP/CCIE certifications are preferred.
  • ITIL certification is required or commitment to complete within six (6) months from date of hire.
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive working experience in IT system support and network administration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Network Administration.
  • Must have excellent hands-on experience in IP backbones and IP services.
  • Must have excellent experience with Cisco router, Catalyst/Nexus switch and wireless technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco UCS and ISE.
  • Expertise must include knowledge of and hand on experience with TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, LACP, RSPAN, ACL, VPC, Port Channel and VLAN Trunking etc.)

What else do you bring?

  • Provide support for network services including DHCP, SNMP, DNS, FTP/SFTP, HTTP, and HTTPS etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise firewall, IPS and VPN remote access with MFA technologies.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Incident and Change management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio/Power Point/Word/Excel etc. for network diagram, presentation and technical support document.
  • Preferred expertise that encompasses network management and support, integration services, and security audit and design.
  • PIPEDA/PHIPA compliance experience as it relates to network best practices and security as well as managing and complying to PIPEDA/PHIPA network controls.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunications business, operations, functions and processes.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and written in a professional manner.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers.
  • Support, patching and remediation in response to security flaws.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn and master new technology quickly and improve personal performance through continual self-study.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Flexibility with respect with work hours; may be required to work after-hours and at all sites of Mackenzie Health.
  • Proven attendance record.

Preferably, Your Profile Also Includes

  • Hands on experience with network management tools such as Cisco DCNM/DNA/NAM/Prime, ManageEngine NCM/Syslog, PRTG.
  • Experience with operating systems, Microsoft infrastructure and storage networking.
  • You may be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health.
