  Adult High School - English 11,12; English Communications 11,12; Global Geography 12; Learning Strategies 12; Canadian Families 12; Law 12; Visual Art 11,12; Academic Support 1.00 Fte Unfilled   First Available to Permanent, Assumed Permanent and Surplus Teachers of the AVRCE Second Available to Term Recall Round One Teachers of the AVRCE Third Available to Term Recall Round Two Teachers of the AVRCE Fourth Available to External Applicants   Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement  

Posting Closes at Midnight, July 21st, 2026Teachers are expected to

Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues

The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE) serves approximately 12,500 students. AVRCE’s vision is Working Together for Students. AVRCE administers 40 schools and two adult high schools located in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

  • five towns: Annapolis Royal, Middleton, Berwick, Kentville, Wolfville
  • three municipal regions: Municipality of the County of Annapolis, Municipality of the County of Kings, Windsor-West Hants Regional Municipality
  • three Mi’kmaq communities: Bear River First Nation, Annapolis Valley First Nation, Glooscap First Nation
  • nine historic African Nova Scotian communities: Lequille, Granville Ferry, Inglewood (Bridgetown), Middleton, Cambridge Station, Gibson Woods, Aldershot, Kentville, Five Mile Plains (Three Mile Plains)
