Account Executive - Commercial Flooring
Position Overview

TheAccount Executive is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth for Patcraft and Philadelphia Commercial flooring brandsacross key commercial market segments and channels. This role develops specifications and demand with architects, designers, end users, and other project decision makers; converts that demand through close coordination with flooring contractors and internal partners; and manages opportunities from early design influence through order, delivery, installation, and post-install support. Primary territory is Ontario, with a focus on the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver territory revenue growth for Patcraft and Philadelphia Commercial across commercial segments in Ontario/GTA by building a disciplined pipeline and closing opportunities.
- Drive specification and demand creation by conducting high-impact product and design presentations with architects, designers, end users, and other decision makers; convert specifications to wins through proactive follow-through.
- Prospect and develop new end-user and project opportunities by identifying targets, initiating outreach, and moving prospects through the selling process.
- Manage projects end-to-end—from opportunity identification and product selection through specification support, order placement, order tracking, delivery coordination, installation support, punch/claim coordination (as needed), and communication of maintenance programs.
- Partner closely with flooring contractors, general contractors, distributors/channel partners, and internal teams to ensure competitive positioning, accurate project information, and excellent customer experience.
- Maintain accurate account, contact, and opportunity data in CRM (e.g., Salesforce.com) to support forecasting, activity planning, and territory management.
- Build and strengthen customer relationships through regular business reviews and appropriate client engagement (e.g., lunches, dinners, and special events) in alignment with company policy.
- Stay current on market activity, competitive dynamics, and key projects within Ontario/GTA; share insights that improve territory strategy and execution.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education (college or university) preferred and 3 years of professional experience is required, preferably all in outside sales.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout Ontario (with a primary focus on the Greater Toronto Area).
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally in meetings, presentations, and written correspondence.
- Working knowledge of sales fundamentals (prospecting, qualification, opportunity management, and follow-through).
- Comfort using CRM and sales productivity tools to track activities, manage opportunities, and support forecasting (Salesforce.com or similar).
Highly Preferred****Experiences & Skills
- Commercial flooring industry experience, with a solid understanding of the specification-driven selling process and key influencers (A&D, end users, contractors).
- Demonstrated success driving specifications and converting them into awarded business through contractor/channel alignment.
- Established relationships in the Ontario/GTA commercial market (architects, designers, end users, flooring contractors, GCs) and a track record of opening new accounts.
- Strong project management habits—ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and details from early design through installation closeout.
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com (or comparable CRM) with strong discipline around activity tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Confident presenter with consultative selling skills; able to run product/design presentations and influence decision makers.
