With the continued growth in the industry, Scotlynn is currently hiring a Junior Software Developer at our Corporate Office in Vittoria, ON. This role is for an individual who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate is a curious and motivated team player with strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.

THE ROLE
The Junior Software Developer is responsible for supporting the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and business systems that support operations across the organization. This role will work closely with the IT Team and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions, enhance existing applications, and assist with technology initiatives that improve business efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
Successful Scotlynn Candidates Have: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript Basic understanding of software development principles, databases, SQL, and application development Understanding of software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting techniques Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
HOW YOU’LL SUCCEED WITH SCOTLYNN
Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and internal business systems Write, maintain, and troubleshoot application code following development standards Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop technical solutions Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications, integrations, and web-based solutions Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software defects and technical issues Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, processes, and system configurations Assist with software testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing activities Work with databases and APIs to support application functionality and data integration requirements Stay current with emerging technologies, programming practices, and software development methodologies
