About the role

Who you are

  • You are a collaborative leader motivated to build and solve problems
  • You have established accounting knowledge, are well-versed in applying technical guidance to accounting issues, and are familiar with implementing new accounting standards
  • You are clear and concise in your communication, use data to drive results, and continuously look for ways to improve outcomes. You’ll work closely with all functions of the business
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in both public and high-growth start-up environments, with management-level experience
  • You have a solid understanding of Software Accounting (SaaS) and international accounting
  • You’re an experienced user of Netsuite
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent project management, organizational, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
  • CPA and bachelor’s degree
  • Big 4 experience

What the job involves

  • We're looking for an operationally-minded Head of Accounting who will lead our Accounting department, creating and maintaining financial reporting, overseeing audits, and helping us to build streamlined processes
  • Drive and manage financial annual audit and ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (e.g. ASC 606, ASC 830, ASC 718)
  • Own all accounting operations including month-end close process, billing and collection, accounts payable process
  • Process payroll and administer the equity plan
  • Manage a team of 3
  • Proactively update and maintain financial controls and accounting policies based on the needs of Apollo business operations and audit compliance
  • Work with external agencies on all applicable local, State and Federal tax returns
  • Help with corporate insurance and compliance needs
  • Manage monthly and quarterly external reporting to upper management and investors
