We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Team Lead to drive inventory accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. In addition to analyzing inventory data, identifying aged and obsolete items, coordinating cycle counts, and implementing organizational systems such as optimized floor layouts and bin systems, this role would provide hands-on leadership to the inventory and receiving team. The Team Lead will delegate tasks, monitor performance, and coach team members to achieve set operational goals. This position also collaborates with cross-functional teams, reconciles inventory discrepancies, and implement KPIs to measure success. By leading process enhancements and fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative environment, the Team Lead ensures best practices are consistently applied across all inventories and receiving operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the inventory team by delegating tasks, monitoring productivity, and providing coaching and feedback.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, aged stock, and non-moving items; recommend actions for excess and obsolete materials.
- Collaborate with Materials and Procurement teams to optimize inventory levels and support continuous improvement initiatives for accuracy and turnover.
- Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) on the production floor by actioning phase-in planning.
- Coordinate segregation and return of non-conforming materials via the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
- Implement and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor inventory performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Organize and oversee cycle count activities (daily, quarterly, annual) to ensure timely reconciliation to meet receiving and inventory KPIs
- Oversee all inventory transactions in NetSuite emanating from the inventory and receiving teams (transfers, adjustments, scrap, receiving)
- Coordinate the review and replenishment of consumables
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain system accuracy through improved processes and documentation.
- Implement fit-for-purpose inventory storage systems, including floor layouts and bin systems, to enhance space utilization, organization, and traceability.
- Identify process gaps and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement new inventory procedures across receiving, storage, cycle counting, and discrepancy resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety and organizational standards in inventory and receiving operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of inventory management or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude, build strong collaborative relationships across departments, and work independently
