SR. COST ANALYST
MONTREAL PLANT | ON-SITE ROLE FIVE DAYS A WEEK
ABOUT YOU:
You are a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys turning data into actionable insights. As a Sr. Cost Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing production costs, ensuring inventory accuracy, and providing financial visibility to plant leadership.
You bring strong expertise in cost accounting, variance analysis, and financial modeling, along with the ability to partner cross-functionally to improve operational efficiency and profitability. This role is ideal for someone who wants to have a direct impact on plant performance and decision-making.
YOU WILL:
-**Manage cost accounting processes.**Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, journal entries, and supporting documentation. -**Ensure inventory accuracy.**Support physical inventory processes and reconcile inventory balances. -**Analyze cost variances.**Prepare and evaluate material, labor, and overhead variances to identify performance drivers. -**Support plant performance reporting.**Partner with plant leadership to provide clear and actionable financial insights. -**Contribute to planning and forecasting.**Participate in annual planning processes and analyze actuals versus forecast. -Improve financial reporting efficiency. Support month-end close activities and identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes. -**Collaborate with functional leaders.**Work with operations and department leaders to improve understanding of financial results. -**Support ad-hoc financial initiatives.**Lead or contribute to special projects and reporting requests for leadership. -**Typical/expected % of overnight travel.**Less than 5% annuallly.
YOU HAVE:
-**Education.**Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. -**Cost Accounting Experience.**5+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or related finance roles. -**Accounting Knowledge.**Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS. -**Manufacturing Finance Expertise.**Experience with production costing, modeling, and plant operations. -**Technical Proficiency.**Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and financial modeling tools. -**Analytical Strength.**Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities. -**Project Execution Skills.**Ability to plan, organize, and complete projects while meeting deadlines. -**Communication Skills.**Strong interpersonal and communication abilities across all levels of the organization. -**Time Management.**Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

ALL ABOUT FINANCE:
Our Finance team combines traditional financial planning, analysis, and accounting with collaborative business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting leadership in Marketing, Sales, Digital & Operations. Team members are expected to analyze data and provide recommendations across our specialized product lines, including Yearbooks, Class Rings, Graduation Products, and Professional Sports. Through the utilization of best-in-class technical software, such as Workday Adaptive Planning, Incorta, SAP BPC, Oracle, Salesforce, & the Microsoft Suite, you will get to play a critical role in determining financial solutions that steer our business. Our Finance team is comprised of several subgroups, including decision support, FP&A, operations, and corporate, but our success is directly related to a culture of cross-team collaboration.
