VICE PRINCIPAL SECONDARY
The Abbotsford School District is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Semá:th First Nation and Mathexwí First Nation. With this, we respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have to this land, as they are the original caretakers.
We are seeking applications for future Vice-Principal positions in our Secondary schools. Those selected will be welcomed to our administrator leadership pool.

This Opportunity
The Vice Principal engages with students and families, provides instructional and administrative leadership, and manages projects in support of the school plan. This is an excellent leadership opportunity to contribute to our vision of equitable and inclusive secondary schools and create a co-constructed inquiry-based learning experience for students that recognizes and supports their social and emotional development.
We are seeking an exemplary educator who understands and appreciates the diverse needs of secondary school students and has a clear personal commitment to meaningful learning experiences, equitable opportunities, and culturally safe environments. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with students, families, and staff based on sound and supportive instructional leadership practice.
Qualifications
- A Masters degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum (or in progress)
- A member in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch
- Successful teaching and leadership experience, preferably at the secondary school level
- For internal candidates: completion of, or enrollment in, the District's Leadership Academy is a prerequisite
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Knowledge of inquiry-based practices that promote deep learning experiences
- Experience in developing innovative programs to support the diverse needs of learners
- Demonstrated success working with at-risk students and reluctant learners
- Knowledge of BCs Policy for Student Success
- Demonstration of district leadership competencies with particular attention to courage and integrity, relationships, learning and innovation, community and culture, and learning leadership.
