Position Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deploy production AI applications end to end, focusing on LLM-powered services for chat, Q&A, summarization, extraction, and content generation.
- Build and maintain secure, scalable APIs, model serving layers, and containerized inference services with observability and monitoring.
- Create robust data ingestion pipelines: chunking, metadata, embedding generation, indexing, and freshness strategies.
- Ensure data privacy, PII protection, content filtering, policy enforcement, and auditability to meet compliance requirements (e.g., FINRA, SEC).
- Optimize performance and cost through batching, caching, autoscaling, and efficient token usage.
- Collaborate with domain and product teams to transform use cases into measurable, production-ready AI features; communicate progress, trade-offs, and results to collaborators.
- Translate ambiguous problems into defined AI solutions with clear SLAs, SLOs, and success metrics.
- Implement safety guardrails: filters, prompt policies, tool/function constraints, and incident logging.
- Provide reusable components, SDKs, and reference architectures to accelerate adoption across teams.
- Document data lineage, retention, and security controls; participate in compliance reviews and audits.
- Collaborate with financial domain experts to understand complex use cases in wealth management, retirement planning, and client servicing.
- Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams to translate the latest advancements in generative AI into practical, production-ready applications.
- Regularly involve collaborators: collect needs, explain technical choices, and convert outcomes into business value.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years building production ML/AI systems with deployed services.
- Strong Python skills and experience with LLM frameworks.
- Hands-on with cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Practical experience with embeddings, vector stores, and retrieval design.
- Experience building secure APIs and inference services with monitoring and observability.
- Strong SQL skills for analysis, data validation, and extraction from enterprise stores.
- Understanding of latency/cost trade-offs and optimization techniques.
- Strong communication abilities and background in partnering with non-technical customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture, APIs, and secure software design in regulated environments.
- Strong data engineering skills for ETL/ELT, schema design, and metadata management.
- Exposure to multimodal pipelines.

Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CAD
