THE ROLE

· This is a position designed for an accounting professional looking for a better work/life balance that includes opportunities for continued learning and development

· Preparation of Year-End Compilation Engagements, Review Engagements and T2 Corporate Tax Returns and T1 Personal Tax Returns for our clients

· This position is full-time

· Hourly pay structure ensuring you get paid for every hour worked. Competitive hourly rates will commensurate with experience

· We utilize an array of cloud-based software and communication tools to work efficiently and promote modern technology to clients

· Team currently includes three CPA partners as well as several other members with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds working in a collaborative and easygoing atmosphere

RESPONSIBILITIES AND BACKGROUND

· Degree in Accounting, Business Accounting or Business Administration

· CPA designation (or working towards) preferred but not required

· 3+ years of experience in yearend accounting, tax preparation experience servicing a variety of customers/industries within a CPA firm environment

· Experience preparing and reviewing simple to complex personal and corporate tax returns

· Consideration given to those with an equivalent combination of education and work experience in public accounting

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QBO, Caseware) and tax preparation software (e.g., Taxprep, Taxcycle)

· Advanced software skills (Microsoft Office suite), quick learner, proactive, curious, open-minded

· Team oriented with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines

· Advanced communication skills and professionalism required for interaction with clients

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
