The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. We are seeking a Part Time Team Lead to join our Café 29 Team. As the Café 29 Team Lead you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional member service experiences by leading by example; directing and facilitating service staff to provide prompt, efficient and friendly service to members and guests while striving for consistency. You will showcase passion in the products that you are serving, and be able to educate the staff and membership with menu and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Daily reporting of notable activities, member concerns and compliments, order questions, staff issues, etc logged for distribution to Café Leadership team and F&B Manager
  • Setup training schedule for new staff with Café 29 Supervisor and execute in person training
  • Supervision and management of staff by directly overseeing cashiers, expo and bussers and actively contributing to create synergies, uphold uniform standards and provide exceptional service throughout the Food & Beverage department through collaboration
  • Hold staff accountable to Café 29 standards, discuss staff performance with Café 29 Supervisor and F&B Manager and perform disciplinary action in the moment as needed
  • Flexible availability and willingness to cover a variety of shifts to assist in meeting Service Standards and goals of Café 29 operations
  • Ensure that all Café 29 members experiences meet or exceed existing Café 29 Service Standards and ensure the team is fulfilling shift responsibilities by informing staff of daily specials and Club events
  • Maintaining product levels by means of stock and inventory control and ordering through Glencoe Club systems

Qualifications

  • Energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • A proven track record, with minimum of 2 year experience in the Food & Beverage service industry
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Resilience through daily stressful situations
  • Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds
  • Ability to be a team player who can be part of a team and execute exceptional service
  • High standards of ethics, honesty and integrity
  • Pro serve Certification

Additional Details This is a Part Time position that reports to the Café 29 Supervisor. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as a Respect in the Workplace online certification prior to commencing employment.
