Status: Full Time, 12-week contract
Location: Muncey, ON
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Hourly Rate: $22.82 per hour
Vacation Pay: 6% vacation pay on all hours worked
Benefits: Not eligible for benefits
Pension: HOOPP (defined benefit pension plan) - Optional

Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre (SOAHAC) is a diverse, dynamic, multi-service Indigenous health and wellness organization. Position Summary
Reporting to the Integrated Care Manager and supporting the Food Sovereignty Coordinator, the Summer Student will support day-to-day program activities that promote access to traditional and healthy foods within the community.
Responsibilities
- Support program planning and coordination of food sovereignty initiatives
- Assist with farm box and food hub distribution
- Support community meals and food-related programming
- Assist with community garden and greenhouse activities
- Support ordering and distribution of Traditional Food (TF) bags
- Collaborate with a graduate research student from Western University
- Provide general program support as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (preferred)
- Interest in Indigenous food sovereignty, community health, or related fields
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments (gardens, greenhouse, community spaces) in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform light physical duties (lifting, carrying food boxes, setting up for community events)
- Ability to reliably attend work at the London site
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required as a condition of employment
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations in accordance with SOAHAC requirements is required as a condition of employment
- Ability to work in a culturally respectful and community-centered environment
This position may include additional responsibilities as required to support organizational priorities.
