Job Summary
Come work as a Nurse Practitioner with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Spectrum Health is a busy full-service family practice that offers comprehensive primary medical care with expertise in the management of HIV as well as men's health. We are a multidisciplinary team including eight physicians, two nurses, a nurse practitioner, a pharmacist, in addition to a clinical research team and wonderful office support staff. We are looking for a part time nurse practitioner interested in collaborative team-based care to share a full-time position with our other nurse practitioner. Wonderful learning environment for general primary care as well as HIV medicine.
As a Nurse Practitioner with VCH you will:
- Be responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients and clients including diagnosing diseases, disorders and conditions.
- Initiate treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits and ...
- Provide professional guidance to other health professionals and participates autonomously as a member of the interdisciplinary health teams.
- Collaborate with clients and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families and communities.
- Develop and implement population and evidence-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities that influence health services and practices.
- Participate in peer, program and self-review to evaluate the outcome of the services at the client, community and population level.
- Be responsible for own professional development and maintaining competence in the position, and maintaining privileges as active medical staff as required.
- Report to the Senior Director, Nurse Practitioners, and with accountability to the Medical Director for the service area.

Education & Experience
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Prior experience as a Nurse Practitioner in the field an asset, but open to all motivated applicants.

- Ability to perform the full scope of NP duties and responsibilities.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
