The Opportunity
The Talent Branch is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for one permanent Talent Attraction Consultant position. The position will be based in Regina or Saskatoon. We’re seeking a collaborative and dedicated professional who is passionate about bringing the right people, with the right skills to the right roles at the right time. Our Talent Attraction team leads innovative recruitment and sourcing strategies that help the Government of Saskatchewan achieve its objectives and adapt to evolving workforce needs.
As the Talent Attraction Consultant, you will:
- Consult with clients on current and future talent needs;
- Empower hiring managers through training, coaching, guidance and tools for effective recruitment and staffing-related practices;
- Identify and develop process improvements and efficiencies in staffing;
- Review and consult on job competencies; advertisements; screening criteria; assessment tools (exercises and interview guides) and reference check guides;
- Provide deep expertise and staffing advice in order to mitigate risk;
- Perform compliance-related functions such as re-employment lists, staffing file reviews, and bumping;
- Proactively source and engage candidates via social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn); internal applicant tracking system (ATS); career fairs; networking events; presentations’ referrals, and direct outreach;
- Develop sourcing strategies for diversity initiatives, hard-to-recruit and pivotal roles;
- Cultivate and maintain relationships and partnerships with educational institutions and associations;
- Collaborate with cross-functional units and teams within the Public Service Commission in relation to sourcing, recruitment, and staffing; and,
- Contribute to initiatives being driven by the TA Team, the Talent Branch, the Public Service Commission, and the Government of Saskatchewan.
Who You Are
- A skilled and knowledgeable consultant with proven expertise in sourcing, recruitment and staffing strategies;
- An active listener who takes initiative to fully understand, assess and solve recruitment and staffing needs and/or challenges;
- Resourceful, independent, and confident when presenting to an audience or training (virtually or in person), or when developing and delivering recruitment and sourcing strategies;
- Able to thoroughly consider collective bargaining agreements, policies, and procedures in consultations;
- Clear and concise when communicating both in writing and verbally; and,
- A strategic relationship builder who can strengthen and deepen ties internally with colleagues and clients, and externally with institutions and organizations.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required is obtained through formal education in Human Resources and experience in talent attraction, but relevant combinations will also be considered.
