Electronics Designer - Amico Accessories
About the role
Electronics Designer:
Responsibilities:
-
Design and develop digital circuits for mobile medical workstations.
-
Create schematics and PCB Designs for medical device accessories (Altium Designer or similar);
-
Coordinate with PCB manufacturers for prototyping and production.
-
Code and/or debug firmware.
-
Test and debug designs.
-
Design and build automated test jigs for production as needed.
-
Simulate and analyze circuits by using appropriate software;
-
Carry out the selection of electronic parts.
-
Test the developed designs for safety, performance targets and compliance;
-
Work with the Quality Management System and related design and development procedures and standards;
-
Work with industry standards and certifications bodies such as UL, IEC any other standards as per the industry requirements;
-
Collaborate with the mechanical design engineering team in developing the complete product and other equipment;
-
Provide technical assistance to Production when needed and assist in manufacturability issues;
-
Report on project progress and follow and maintain project timelines.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor in Electronics Engineering or equivalent;
-
5+ years of progressive experience in electronic designs and electronic board designs;
-
3+ years of experience in software and firmware development;
-
Good analytical skills and understanding of electronic circuits.
-
Experience working with RFID, Ethernet, and WiFi.
-
Solid foundation in AC-DC and DC-DC conversion techniques and circuit analysis;
-
Solid foundation in Circuit Protection and Compliance Testing requirements (ESD, EFT, Surge, EMC, EMI etc);
-
Knowledge of the software, an asset: Altium Designer, Pspice, Matlab, Python, Visual Studio VS Code, TypeScript, SQL and C#
-
Knowledge of mechanical CAD packages is an asset.
-
A professional engineer licence (P.Eng.) or eligibility for it is an asset.
-
Experience with consumer and medical product design is an asset.
