Our commitment is to provide innovative, high-quality programs that foster student achievement in academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility, and leadership. We also support lifelong learning for over 16,000 adult learners through Burnaby Community & Continuing Education.
We are currently seeking passionate and flexible educators to join our Teachers Teaching-On-Call (TTOC) team. As a TTOC, you will support students across various schools and grade levels, contributing to a caring and inclusive learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (Elementary or Secondary), including a relevant teaching methodology course, or academic equivalent
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Practicum reports and/or teacher evaluations (if available)

Salary & Benefits
- TTOC Salary Range: $59,711 – $98,085 annually (based on the Teachers' Salary Grid)
- Placement on the salary scale is determined by experience and qualifications, as per the collective agreement
- Benefits available upon hire, with cost based on position and full-time equivalent (FTE) status

During the summer months, our District provides students the opportunity to take various courses. Summer session is an opportunity for teachers, who choose to, to continue working during the summer months.
Students The Burnaby School District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners.
Employees The Burnaby School District employs 4,000 dedicated staff who are committed to providing students with a wide variety of innovative, high-quality programs to ensure student achievement in areas that include academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility and leadership.
