**Job Summary:**The role is to work on process design and improvements for manufacturing to increase productivity and improve manufacturing flow. It may involve revising work instructions, conducting time studies, making improvements to process flow, and training operators on new processes

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Enrolled in University or College level courses in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum two years of studies completed
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must possess problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Must be energetic and self-motivated
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Able to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful manner

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform standardized work studies
  • Review work instructions at the work cells
  • Observe job functions performed by operators and compare to the work instructions
  • Interview operators as necessary to clarify methods used to perform tasks
  • Perform job function as per work instructions and input of operators
  • Maintain key performance indicators
  • Assist in assessing ergonomic stressors and making adjustments at work cells as needed
  • Update work instructions to reflect changes
  • Assist engineering and production staff with documentation
  • Conduct other special projects during work term as designated
