What can you expect from this position?
Reporting to the Associate Director, Community Engagement, the Student, Community Ambassador will be one of Toronto Pearson’s most visible representatives in the community. You’ll meet people where they are, at festivals, neighbourhood events, workshops, and airport activations, and help translate the airport’s role, impact, and future into clear, human, and engaging conversations.
This role goes beyond event support. You’ll be a storyteller, connector, and trusted presence, bringing Toronto Pearson’s community commitments to life through meaningful interactions and compelling content. You’ll also help extend the reach of each engagement by capturing stories, photos, and moments that reflect the people and communities connected to the airport.
This position is ideal for someone who is confident speaking with the public, comfortable representing a large organization, and excited to turn real-world conversations into stories that travel.
As a Student, Community Ambassador, you will:
- Represent Toronto Pearson at community events, activations, workshops, and airport-led initiatives across the GTA.
- Confidently communicate key messages about the airport’s operations, community impact, and role in the region.
- Support on-site setup and teardown for events and activations, including tents and marketing materials.
- Coordinate with event organizers on logistics and on-the-ground needs.
- Capture high-quality, story-driven photos, videos, and content during engagements for use across newsletters, social media, and outreach materials.
- Facilitate or support educational workshops and outreach activities for diverse audiences.
- Track and document community interactions, questions, and feedback to inform future programming and messaging.
- Contribute ideas and insights that help improve how Toronto Pearson engages with the public.
- Support in-terminal activations, open houses, and airside tours when applicable.
- Assist with inventory management, logistics, and general administrative support.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Availability to work full-time from May to the end of August 2026 and can commit to a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
- Ability to be highly public-facing and represent Toronto Pearson confidently, professionally, and with good judgment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and naturally with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to be socially savvy and capture authentic, engaging content that reflects real moments and stories.
- Experience in community engagement, events, marketing, sales, or another public-facing role.
- Ability to stay organized, adapt quickly, and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to bring energy, curiosity, and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset to your work.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in non-traditional settings, including events with outdoor washrooms.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and respectful engagement.
- Experience supporting or delivering events, workshops, or community activations would be considered an asset.
- Basic photography, videography, or social content creation skills would be considered an asset.
- A valid G driver’s licence.
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3).
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.
