Preferred Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electrician Work.

Experience in oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environments.

Proficiency with SAP, Word, and Excel is considered a strong asset.
Trade / Scope Specific project responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
-
Inspect existing electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Diagnose the condition of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Recommend best-fit solutions for electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Service and repair electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Construct new “trade” infrastructure.
-
Assemble and install new and replacement electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Communicate inspection results, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Document inspection results, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
-
Follow safety guidelines, approved processes, and procedures on the job site.
-
Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity.
-
Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors.
-
Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.
PPE Requirements
All Electrician Journeyman personnel are required to wear and maintain the following**personal protective equipment (PPE)**while on site:

CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots
-
Hard hat (CSA-approved)
-
High-visibility vest or clothing
-
Insulating and protective gloves suitable for electrical work
-
Safety glasses or goggles
-
Hearing protection in designated high-noise areas
-
Flame-resistant (FR) clothing for areas with potential electrical arcs
-
Fall protection equipment (harness, lanyard, anchorage) when working at heights
-
Arc flash PPE (as required for high-voltage work)
CP Services provides all required PPE and ensures personnel are trained in its proper use and maintenance in accordance with Alberta OHS legislation and site-specific requirements.
Work Environment
The Electrician Journeyman role is based onindustrial oil and gas worksites, which may include:
- Remote or rotational camp environments
- Confined spaces (electrical rooms, equipment enclosures)
- Elevated work areas requiring fall protection
- Exposure to high-voltage equipment, heat, noise, dust, and chemical agents
- Outdoor conditions including extreme weather and variable temperatures
All personnel are expected to follow site-specific safety protocols, participate in required safety orientations, and maintain compliance with allAlberta OHS regulations. CP Services prioritizes a safe working environment and ensures employees have the necessary training, supervision, and equipment to perform their duties safely.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to pass a drug and alcohol, fit for work exam, Respiratory Fitness Test, Mask Fit Test, provided by C.P. Services.
Applicantsmust already holdthe following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain themat their own expenseprior to commencing work.
