POSITION OVERVIEW

The BDC is looking for a Project Controls Officer (PCO) to support the EPMO department. As part of their duties, the Officer will monitor and coordinate project portfolio management activities by identifying potential issues in terms of budgets, resources, dates and tasks, in conjunction with the Project Managers. CHALLENGES TO BE MET

As an expert, you have the best place to get an overview of the project portfolio! You will therefore be called upon to work and contribute at all stages, including:

  • Monitor and coordinate all project plans by taking the initiative to identify the obvious conflicts in each of the plans to find a solution;
  • Coordinate the production of reports in order to track and forecast all project expenses (billing management);
  • Ensure dependencies and linkages within and between schedules are established correctly and track work in progress blocks and tasks;
  • To maximize resource allocation and from a capacity management perspective, create, update and maintain a comprehensive plan with the participation of all project leaders and managers allowing management to have an overview of all projects in progress;
  • Verify any unforeseen deviations with project managers by ensuring that the rationale is properly documented according to the project management methodology;
  • Ensure the compliant administrative and logistical part for all project progress, launch and closure meetings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Project and Enterprise Project Management (EPM) environment – version 2010 and above
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
  • University education or any experience deemed equivalent and at least 10 years in project coordination and/or control
  • Very good command of English and French and excellent writing skills (at the day-to-day project management and executive level)
  • Ability to work in an agile context (iterative planning)
  • Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and initiative
  • Bilingualism both written and oral in both English and French
