Description Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a statewide provider of commercial skilled trade services. The HVAC Commercial Estimator plays a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial HVAC installation and service projects. This individual will analyze plans and specifications, perform material and labor take-offs, and collaborate with project managers, and the internal purchasing department to prepare comprehensive bids.
Scope Of Responsibilities
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and estimate requirements
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for equipment, materials, and labor
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC projects
- Obtain pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to verify project requirements and value-engineering options
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards, industry practices, and local codes
- Participate in project meetings and provide input during preconstruction and planning phases
- Continuously evaluate and refine estimating procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness
- Maintain current knowledge of HVAC industry trends, pricing changes, and emerging technologies
- Work Location Requirement: This position is on-site at the corporate office and is not available as a remote or hybrid role. Candidates must be able to work from the office during standard business hours
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of commercial HVAC estimating experience, with a solid understanding of mechanical systems, components and installation practices
- Ability to interpret plumbing/electrical, architectural, civil, and structural plans relevant to HVAC installations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, SureCount, Autodesk, Intellibid, and/or EBM preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Salary Description
$26 to $36 per hour
