Role Description The Instrument Manager will be responsible for directing the activities of Sherwood Park Branch with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of on-site and work-from-home duties. The position consists of Instrumentation work, in conjunction with Electrical and sub-contractor trade work. This position oversees instrumentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of field and shop activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing instrumentation technicians, reviewing drawings and specifications, overseeing installation, calibration, and maintenance of control systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures. The Instrumentation Manager collaborates with project managers and clients, provides technical guidance and troubleshooting support, and monitors budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. The role also involves developing and improving processes, supporting training initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement in instrumentation practices. You must be well organized, with safe work execution at the forefront of every decision.

Key Responsibilities Participate in Iconic's day to day safety program, as a leader and drive innovation in planning Communicate with Iconic's clients and provide assistance for maintenance and project needs Act as a mentor and a leader for all subordinate personnel Building estimates and budgets Updates and maintains the project Baseline Schedule and Basis of Schedule documents (with team) Establish and manage the project schedule for maintenance, construction and pre-commissioning activities Lead and planning sessions with internal maintenance and construction teams, subcontractors and vendors to validate schedule logic and collect progress data Apply resource loading for establishing optimal crew and staffing plans Ensure all schedule activities are aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) within project controls systems for progress tracking and forecasting Identity and maintain the projects critical and near-critical paths, continuous analysis of schedule health and reporting key metrics and trends Work with team and clients on scope change, trends and delays into schedule, evaluating impacts and supporting mitigation and recovery planning Support project reporting by providing updates and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications Strong organizational skills and experience Strong problem solving skills Strong project planning, scheduling and execution experience is essential 5 Years experience on site industrial projects Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Projects would be an asset Strong conceptual and analytical skills with high attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills, with the ability to lead planning sessions and influence outcomes Strong written and verbal communication skills, with commercial acumen and client interface experience

Preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate the following; Journeyman Instrument Mechanic with Red Seal Classification Gold Seal Certification, Project Management Course, NSCO designation Past experience in leadership roles Valid Class 5 Drivers License and ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract Undergo and successfully pass industry standard pre-employment testing
