Location: Remote (Canada-based applicants preferred) Hours: ~6–10 hours per week Compensation: $30 CAD/hour

Star Students is a boutique alternative education company offering tailored tutoring and homeschooling services to K–12 students across Canada and beyond. We specialize in creating flexible, engaging learning experiences that center each student’s unique strengths, learning styles, and goals.
✨ What We’re Looking For:
We’re currently seeking a warm, reliable, and experienced educator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys individualized teaching and values a student-first approach.
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Education, ECE, or a related field
Strong communication skills and a growth-oriented mindset
Comfort with remote teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
A love for working with children and helping them feel confident in their learning
Bonus Points For:
Background in reading and literacy support
Homeschooling experience or alternative education mindset
Comfort creating fun, hands-on, or cross-curricular activities
🗓 Scheduling
Teaching sessions are scheduled around your availability, but most take place during:
Morning & early afternoons (Tues–Fri)
Early evenings (Mon–Thurs) We aim for consistency in weekly sessions but maintain flexibility for both students and teachers.
✏️ What You’ll Do:
Deliver personalized 1:1 lessons to students (materials provided or customized by you)
Complete a short feedback form after each session (~5 minutes)
Communicate with the team to ensure student needs are being met
Lesson prep is minimal, and additional time (for reports, etc.) is compensated separately. You’ll have access to a supportive team and a growing library of resources, but you're also welcome to bring your own style and ideas to the table!

Be it inappropriate curriculum, a lack of diversity in critical thinking, a problem of ratios from children to teacher, or something else entirely, I can say I've spoken to many parents recently that have problems with school as a whole.
We help students and learners of all ages in a variety of subjects, with a unique learning approach that is catered to them. Star Students offers complete curriculum support with hands-on homeschooling programs, as well as academic support for children who are in the public (or private) education system. We support students in what they learn, but more importantly, how they learn, and focus on ways to build soft skills in the interim.
