THE POSITION
Working in a customer facing role, theSenior Business Development Representative(Oil Sands Services) will work to provide value-added existing services and progress new growth opportunities with Keyera’s oil sands customers on pipelines, storage and new infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity for a career driven professional to join a winning culture that fosters team-work, innovative thinking, open communication, integrity, and mutual respect.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strong relationships with Keyera’s oil sands customers to manage existing business and collaboratively find areas Keyera can expand and grow its service offerings.
- Keep appraised of key industry trends and ensure Keyera is positioned to support infrastructure needs based on those trends.
- Lead contract negotiations for new projects and existing contract renewals.
- Work collaboratively with Keyera’s engineering team to progress through all phases of a project including the conceptual phase, initial scoping, detailed engineering, and project execution.
- Prepare and present new opportunities to Keyera executives in order to receive internal approvals for contract and capital spend commitments.
- With support from Keyera’s corporate development group, build and develop economic models to justify investment decisions.
- Work effectively with operations, logistics, financial analysts and commercial business units to manage and optimize profitability of liquids infrastructure assets.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be eager to uncover many value-add opportunities with the following qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics or Commerce with 10+ years of energy related experience with a preference for experience in a commercial role.
- Experience in all or some of the following areas: customer management, corporate development, project management, engineering, marketing, and/or business development.
- Proven business acumen and ability to negotiate commercial contracts and ensure alignment both internally and externally through contract development
- Action-oriented individual with the demonstrated ability to proactively combine interpersonal skills with technical acumen in a way that progresses growth projects and commercial initiatives.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely and organized manner with an attention for detail and a focus on teamwork.
