Mission Statement

Position Summary

The Job Developer/ Employment Liaison plays a vital role in bridging the gap between newcomer talent and the Regina employers' community. The primary responsibility of this position is to help newcomer clients achieve their employment goals by their unique skill sets and competencies with appropriate job opportunities. The Job Developer/ Employment Liaison builds and maintains long-lasting relationships with local employers to promote the hiring of newcomers, determines employers needs and proposes solutions through job matching.

Beyond direct outreach, this role is responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of networking event, job fairs, industry-specific webinars, and information session from inception to completions. In addition, the Job Developer works in close tandem with Employment Counselors to facilitate successful and appropriate client referrals and ensure all participants are job-ready. High visibility is the key; this role actively participates in community events to advocate for the value of newcomer talent and maintain the strong reputation of RODS Employment Services.

To ensure program success and funder compliance, the Job Developer maintains meticulous documentation and is responsible for preparing comprehensive activity narratives and reports, ensuring all employer activity and client interaction are recorded accurately and in timely manner. This role required a proactive professional who can balance employer relationships building with the administrative diligence necessary to track and report on program impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field ( Social Services, Communications, Public Relations, Human Resources, or a related area)
  • Proven experience in business development, recruitment or sales with a background in job coaching and employment counseling
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with staff, clients, employers, and various stakeholders
  • Solid working knowledge of labor market trends, employer requirements, community resources and , educational and vocational training opportunities
  • Experience and sensitivity when working with newcomers to Canada, including those with limited English proficiency
  • Strong technological skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Classroom, SMART Boards, Databases)
  • Demonstrated experience in event management, from planning to marketing to the execution of the event
  • Must be a self-starter with proven accountability, resourcefulness, initiative, and professionalism
  • Must be results-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's

Duties and Responsibilities

##Employer RelationsJob Development

  • Proactively build relationships with the Regina employers' community to access the hidden job market and secure job opportunities for newcomer clients
  • Market RODS Employment Services to employers, identifying specific hiring needs and offering tailored recruitment solutions
  • Represent RODS Employment Services at career fair and community event to expand the employer network and maintain high visibility for newcomer talent
  • Stay current on Saskatchewan Labour market trends, industry requirements, and effective job search techniques to provide expert advice to both clients and employers

##Event ManagementCoordination

  • Plan, organize and execute networking events, information sessions, and large-scale job fairs from inception to completion
  • Coordinate worksite tours, industry-specific webinars to connect employers directly with the newcomer talent pool
  • Design and develop promotional material as required to market Employment Services programs and special events to stakeholders
  • Manage venue booking, equipment requirements, and vendor communications for all major employment-related

##Client SupportEmployment Readiness

  • Work in close collaboration with Employment Counselors to ensure job matches reflect clients relevant skill sets, abilities and long-term employment goals
  • Conduct and arrange mock interviews and provide specialized coaching to prepare client to understand the job requirements and apply for the jobs accordingly
  • Act as a job coach by monitoring clients' employment status, evaluating progress, and providing ongoing feedback to support successful workplace integration

##Administrative Tasks and Reporting

  • Maintain employers and clients' database to ensure accurate tracking and outcomes
  • Prepare and submit detailed monthly activity reports to the supervisor
  • Manager communication with external stakeholders, ensuring all employers inquiries and partnership requests are addressed promptly and professionally
  • Perform other position related duties as required

Direct Reports

Manager of Employment Services Salary Level/Classification

The annual salary for this position starts at $ 54, 440.59 ($31.02 per hour) at Step 1 of the Professional Category 1 RODS wage category. Pay periods are the end of day on the 15th of the month and the end of each month.

Working Conditions

The standard work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30 pm in-person, with a one hour unpaid lunch break and an EDO every second week.

All RODS positions require a clean criminal record check. There is a cost- shared benefits package and a 3% pension contribution available to the employee upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
