Job Description:
The Cyber Security Administrator is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organizations information systems, networks and data. This role involves designing, implementing, monitoring and managing security tools and processes to safeguard against internal and external cyber threats. The Cyber Security Administrator will collaborate with IT, compliance and business units to create a secure, resilient and compliant environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze security events and alerts from firewalls, SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms.
- Respond to security incidents, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage vulnerability scanning tools and remediate identified risks
- Administer user accounts, roles and permissions in Active Directory, M365, and other enterprise applications.
- Enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA), least privilege (PoLP), and password policies.
- Conduct regular audits of access rights and privilege escalations.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPN’s, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure gateways.
- Implement network segmentation and zero-trust principles.
- Monitor wireless and remote access points for compliance and secure configuration.
- Deploy and manage antivirus, EDR, and patch management solutions.
- Ensure servers, endpoints, and mobile devices are secured and compliant with company standards.
- Support secure application deployments, including vulnerability testing and patch updates.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures aligned with ISO27001, IATF or other frameworks.
- Conduct regular security awareness training and phishing simulations for employees.
- Support compliance audits (e.g., GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA, automotive industry standards, as applicable.
- Maintain and test the Incident Response Plan (IRP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures
- Provide regular reports to IT management on threat trends, vulnerabilities, and security posture.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience working as a Cyber Security Specialist in a Tier-1/Tier-2 support environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security +, Azure/AWS Security.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, etc.)
- Analytical mindset, strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Service and datacenter/network troubleshooting and configurations.
