Training Opportunity Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals interested
in pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA).
TBRHSC will provide full tuition coverage through a return‑of‑service and program completion agreement.
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for acceptance into NIFA s RNFA online program. Prospective
candidates must complete the training within 12 months of starting the program.
Admission Criteria Include:
Registered Nurse with a minimum of five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience and currently working
either full‑time or part‑time in perioperative nursing.
CNOR or CPN(C) certification must be obtained by completion of the program.
Applicants meeting the above criteria who have not been active in their profession within the past five (5) years
are not eligible to apply for the program.
Commitment and Expectations
Candidates must demonstrate adherence to the Hospital s Code of Conduct. Regular attendance at work is
imperative; therefore, applicants must demonstrate a satisfactory attendance record to be considered for this
opportunity.
