We are seeking a Junior Decision Support Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Analytics, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for working with Ontario Health to understand the funding formula and collaborating with the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) systemic and radiation medicine teams to ensure high-quality data submissions that support optimal Ontario Health funding. This includes activities related to Activity Level Reporting (ALR), the provincial dataset that captures patient-level oncology activity for radiation therapy, systemic therapy, and outpatient oncology clinic visits, forming the basis for quality, cost, and performance indicators within the Ontario cancer system. In this capacity, the Junior Decision Support Analyst is responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of datasets, along with performing regular data audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness. The position will include managing the regular report-running schedule and processes and developing process improvements for accurate data collection and data-management activities, including identifying and correcting data-entry errors and designing workflows to improve data quality in preparation for systemic and radiation therapy submissions.Responsibilities also include coordinating education and training activities. Working closely with WFCC Managers, Enterprise Analytics, Finance, Information Technology, and physicians, this individual will play an integral role in ensuring the accuracy, comprehensiveness, consistency, and validity of collected data.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o University degree in Health Informatics, Business, or equivalent
o Minimum 2 years experience with statistics, and analysis is required
o Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Oncology Systemic and Radiation Quality Based Procedure funding methodologies
o Displays superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with many diverse groups including Clinicians, Information Systems and HIM coding staff
o Excellent attention to detail
o Demonstrates effective customer service, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision making skills
o Demonstrates strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Meditech, and internet navigation
o Evidence of strong technical and analytical skills, effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgment, and critical thinking skills
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Excellent attendance record
