Job Summary

Under the direction of the Signage Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for preparing custom canvas products for shipment while supporting production activities such as canvas stretching, wooden stretcher frame assembly, quality inspection, and product finishing. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package products for shipping. 
  • Inspect the product and final package for any damage or quality issues.
  • Stretch canvasses onto frames using the tools necessary for the task.  
  • Install hardware such as hangers on products prior to shipping.
  • Stock finished product onto skids or in bins.
  • Create wooden frames according to specified measurements for canvasses.  
  • Clean and maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Instruct temporary employees on best practices for multiple tasks when necessary.
  • Assist Printing Operator in setting up print jobs on machines.
  • Compile monthly inventory report for Signage Manager.
  • Complete additional tasks as required.
  • Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements.   

Qualifications and Skills

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent and previous experience in a wide format/print role is considered an asset. 
  • Ability to read English and follow shipping requirements from start to finish. 
  • Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 
  • Reliability and dependability. 
  • Multitasker, able to work on numerous tasks throughout their shift. 
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team. 
  • Flexibility in scheduling is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work reasonable overtime hours when required to meet customer demands.
  • A moderate amount of physical effort will be required to perform the duties of the job. In a typical day, the incumbent will be expected to stand and walk for up to 7 hours or more, perform repetitive tasks, and lift, carry, and stack up to 50lbs regularly.
