About the role

Being a Plant Manager with us means taking on a strategic role at the heart of the organization’s manufacturing and corporate operations. You will be responsible for optimizing production performance while ensuring employee health and safety, product quality, and the achievement of business objectives, all within a continuous improvement mindset.

As Plant Manager, you will act as a true partner to senior leadership, actively contributing to strategic planning, management committees, and the oversight of Production, Human Resources, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance teams.

Results-driven, people-oriented, and strategic, you will contribute to the company’s overall performance, process optimization, and team development within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership and Governance

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan;
  • Take part in various management committees;
  • Contribute annually and periodically to the budget process for the departments under your responsibility (CAPEX, OPEX, etc.).

Human Resources Management

  • Ensure effective and engaging team management:
    • Participate in employee recruitment;
    • Implement the Performance Appraisal Cycle (PAC) for team members;
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures;
    • Ensure that required training is provided to employees and new hires;
  • Promote a healthy, safe work environment compliant with occupational health and safety standards.

Production Operations and Planning Management

  • Ensure that production plans comply with health and safety standards;
  • Ensure production plans are executed in line with customer orders and targeted inventory levels;
  • Participate in defining and planning production objectives;
  • Maintain and optimize production management tools and systems, including:
    • Volume control, CVP analysis, variance reports, action plan logs, production reports, operational summaries, performance dashboards, and standard matrices;
  • Maintain effective communication mechanisms:
    • Daily production reviews, transition meetings, and employee follow-ups.

Procurement and Logistics Management

  • Ensure procurement plans are aligned with production planning;
  • Ensure inventory objectives are achieved;
  • Ensure logistics and distribution operations meet quality and delivery objectives.

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering;
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Strong experience with ERP systems;
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment;
  • A good understanding of logistics operations;
  • Knowledge of Value-Added Production (VAP) and lean manufacturing principles;
  • Good knowledge of human resources management and occupational health and safety;
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards (an asset).
