Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Finance Clerk to support the administration and processing of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) applicant travel reimbursements. The selected candidate will provide financial, clerical, and administrative support services to ensure reimbursement packages are accurately reviewed, tracked, and processed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. This contract will run until early November, 2026.
Responsibilities
Receive, review, register, track, and organize CAF applicant travel reimbursement packages and supporting documentation. Verify reimbursement packages for completeness, accuracy, required approvals, receipts, financial coding, and signatures. Conduct preliminary reviews against applicable DND, CAF, CFRG, and National Joint Council travel policies and entitlements. Identify missing, incomplete, duplicate, or non-compliant information and prepare follow-up requests. Calculate, validate, and reconcile reimbursement amounts for eligible travel expenses. Prepare reimbursement packages for review, approval, and payment processing by authorized personnel. Maintain tracking logs, spreadsheets, databases, and reimbursement status records. Communicate with applicants and stakeholders regarding missing information, status updates, and administrative inquiries. Escalate complex reimbursement cases, entitlement issues, or policy-related concerns as required. Compile processing statistics, workload reports, and status summaries. Organize, file, store, and transmit records in accordance with Government of Canada information management and security requirements. Use Microsoft Office Suite, email, databases, spreadsheets, and other approved administrative tools. Provide general clerical, administrative, and financial support related to applicant travel reimbursement activities.
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of experience providing financial support services within the last five (5) years. Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a team environment within the last five (5) years. Minimum two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office (including Outlook) and PDF software such as Adobe or Foxit within the last five (5) years. Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience within the last five (5) years. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and client service abilities. Experience supporting Government of Canada, DND, CAF, travel reimbursement, or financial administration activities is an asset.
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance. Ability to work on site
Compensation
$27-$33 p/h
