Job Description:

Job Title: Quality Technician

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Pay:$21.40 CAD

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensure quality standards and specifications are met on incoming, in-process and finished products. Collect samples, monitor processes, perform sample testing, record same test data, record and report collected test data with the use of a computer, send all data to the customer via e-mail and communicate with the plant and supervisory personnel. Report tests results and unusual findings to the Supervisor and Plant Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform testing on glass as per quality specifications

  • Post daily records of contaminant finding in the picking station of the Bottle plant for picking personnel to view

  • Send and report to customer as requested the daily test results for each product type

  • Perform in-line process checks of processed cullet to ensure the machinery is functioning correctly

  • Prepare and perform Quality Test Data of any new product or process change as required by the Plant Manager or approved customer request

  • Enter test data in the appropriate systems

  • Report test results to Supervisor when completed

  • Report any unusual result to Supervisor

  • Proper use and wearing of mandatory PPE

  • Perform other duties as directed

ACADEMIC/EDUATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to three years of post-secondary education
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must attend Quality Assurance information sessions, classes and seminars

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical ability is a definite asset
  • Computer knowledge required
  • Able to work independently
  • Product and lab testing ability
