About the role

Advanced Product Development Engineer Position Summary The Advanced Product Development Engineer is responsible for leading the development of innovative automotive products from concept through validation and transition to production. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and external partners to identify new opportunities, develop solutions, and support the Company's long-term product and technology strategy. Qualifications Work Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably in product development. Language Requirements Fluent in English (verbal and written). Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and creative thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. High attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft 365. Experience using ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) documentation processes. Proficiency with CAD software and engineering simulation tools. Experience with embedded systems. Knowledge of automotive standards, regulations, and product development processes. Physical Requirements Ability to perform duties in both manufacturing and office environments. Ability to sit, stand, or move for extended periods as required. Ability to operate standard office and manufacturing equipment. Ability to travel internationally as required. Key Responsibilities Identify and define new product opportunities and enhancements based on market trends, emerging technologies, customer requirements, and legislative changes. Develop, analyze, and validate innovative product concepts using engineering tools, simulations, and prototype testing. Lead cross-functional internal teams and coordinate with external partners to ensure development activities align with business objectives. Facilitate incubator sessions by organizing and leading collaborative idea-generation workshops, driving concepts through implementation. Manage advanced product development projects from concept through handoff, ensuring project milestones, budgets, and timelines are achieved. Collaborate directly with customers to present concepts, gather feedback, and refine product designs to meet customer expectations. Support the Company's intellectual property strategy by contributing to patent documentation and monitoring emerging technologies and industry trends. Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical and commercial handoff packages to Product Engineering and Sales teams. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the product development lifecycle. Health, Safety & Wellness Promote a safe work environment by complying with the Company's Health and Safety Management System. Participate in hazard identification, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and wellness legislation, regulations, and Company policies. Uphold the Company's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct at all times. Environmental Responsibilities Support the Company's Environmental Management System by promoting sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, recycling, and responsible resource management. Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations, and Company environmental standards.
