Registered Nurse (RN) - Belleville Emergency Room
About the role
Position Summary The Belleville Emergency Department is a fast paced department with an average of 115 patients visits per day. We are the center for all ICU, Internal Medicine, Inpatient Surgery, Gyne. & Maternity. Belleville is also a Schedule One facility for Psychiatry. Our Team is made up of RN’s, RPN’s, Physician’s, Physician Assistant’s as well as a multidisciplinary team of Physio, OT & Allied Health, all of whom practice with our corporate values in mind. We provide an extensive orientation program including classroom & mentoring one on one with a preceptor. As a member of our team, you will have ongoing learning opportunities to expand your knowledge in an environment that is fast paced & always changing.
Required
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in ACLS or proof of enrolment in a recertification course. You will be asked to provide a copy of your valid certificate at the time of hire/transfer.
- Completion of Coronary Care 1 or equivalent (ex. QHC Cardio Concepts).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience in the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse.
- Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis available to review).
Duties
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills to assume incharge responsibility to function independently.
- Practices within the scope of professional, legal and ethical standards.
- Accountable to seek out and obtain education to enhance/improve practice.
- Formulates the plan of care in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Continuously assesses, monitors and evaluates data regarding the patients physical, emotional, and psycho-social status.
- Continuous analysis of data to formulate nursing response and interventions based on the patient/family wishes, priorities, and needs.
- Plans interventions in collaboration with the inter-professional care team to formulate an overall plan of care.
- Implements the established plan of care in collaboration with the inter-professional team using advanced skill and knowledge within his/her professional scope of practice.
- Evaluates patient outcomes in a manner consistent with independent and interdependent nursing functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
