Summary The Climate Resilience Risk Manager is responsible to work with client(s) to develop and implement Climate Resilience and Mitigation strategies and initiatives within the assigned account(s).

This role will work in collaboration with all key BGIS departments to ensure full support of all activities and play a key role in our INTEGRATED approach to operating buildings.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Safety Ownership and Regulatory Compliance

  • Comply with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and mandated by BGIS Health Safety and Environment Teams and enforced by law.

Infrastructure Climate Resilience

  • Review and analyze the performance of various procedures and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Single point of contact for all Climate Resilience matters.

  • Responsibility to facilitate the fulfillment of Climate Resilience deliverables within the contract including:

  • Completion of climate resilience section of Energy, Sustainability and Climate Resilience Action Plan.

  • Conducting climate resilience audits.

  • Implementation of climate resilience risk checklists for base building assessments.

  • Analysis of all weather-related induced incidents with useful insights for improving climate resilience.

  • Following the Incident Management Tracking Process to report, within 24 hours any weather induced incidents causing personal injury, property damage or program interruption.

  • Support climate risk assessments with all necessary property data.

Liaison and Integration of BGIS

  • Perform as the Subject Matter Expert for Climate Risk, Resilience and Mitigation for the Account organization and in interaction with the organization including the Energy, Sustainability and Climate Resilience team.

  • Coordinate Climate Resilience programs with the BGIS organization including the following teams.

  • Energy, Sustainability and Climate Resilience

  • FM Operations

  • Smart Buildings

  • Asset Renewal Management

  • Asset Renewal and Client Works

  • Finance

People Leadership Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Technical Training and Development.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Strong to Expert level knowledge of Climate Risk, Resilience and Mitigation study and practice.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction and maintenance of real estate infrastructure. (5+ years’ experience in infrastructure or building design, construction, or operation).
  • Strong knowledge of risk management theory and practice. (2+ years’ experience in risk management or climate resilience planning).
  • Strong knowledge of climate resilience theory and practice.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Infrastructure Resilience Professional (IRP) Credential from the Climate Risk Institute – as asset

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $84,493 to $105,616 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
