  • Underwriting both new business and renewals, including developing and negotiating pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions across the defined product suite.
  • Supporting market-facing business development efforts to expand Everest’s Canadian A&H footprint.
  • Collaborating closely with the National Distribution and Executive Team to achieve new business and growth objectives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with distribution partners and internal Everest stakeholders.
  • Delivering excellent, customer-centric service to brokers and MGAs through a consistent, timely, proactive, and self-directed approach.
  • Working closely with internal teams including Underwriting Leadership, Actuarial, Product Development, Claims, and Legal.
  • Supporting renewal retention initiatives by issuing timely renewal notices and actively managing the renewal lifecycle with brokers and MGAs.
  • Ensuring underwriting data, documentation, and repository systems are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Maintaining knowledge of and compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements, conduct standards, and risk management responsibilities.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of production underwriting experience.
  • Proven experience underwriting and managing Group Accident products; experience with Occupational Accident, Travel, and RX Stop Loss is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical underwriting and pricing acumen within the Accident & Health insurance space.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with Programs and MGAs.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • A customer- and sales-oriented mindset with a solid understanding of the Canadian A&H market.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel 10–25%, as business needs require.
  • A tenacious, proactive, self-motivated approach with an entrepreneurial mindset.

The base salary range for this position is CAD 125,000 - CAD 150,000 annually . The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
