About the Role:
Enbridge is seeking an experienced and strategic Project Manager to lead the implementation of a Power Allocation Optimization application. This initiative is a joint venture with a third-party technology partner to enhance one of their standard platforms with Enbridge-specific business logic, operational constraints, and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Governance:
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan including timelines, milestones, resource plans, and budget forecasts.
- Establish project governance structures, including steering committees, working groups, and reporting cadences.
2. Stakeholder & Communication Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business units (e.g., Operations, Regulatory, Commercial), IT teams, and the third-party vendor.
- Prepare and deliver regular project updates, executive dashboards, and decision-support materials to senior leadership.
3. Vendor & Contractual Oversight:
- Manage the relationship with the third-party vendor, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Oversee contract compliance, change requests, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate joint design sessions, sprint reviews, and integration testing with vendor teams.
4. Technical & Functional Delivery:
- Ensure the application is tailored to Enbridge’s operational needs, including power flow modeling and optimization algorithms.
- Oversee integration with existing SCADA, EMS, and data historian systems.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental constraints.
- Oversee solution architecture reviews, data mapping, and interface design.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), performance testing, and go-live readiness.
5. Risk, Issue & Change Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Maintain a risk register and issue log with clear ownership and resolution paths.
- Manage scope changes through a formal change control process.
6. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to Enbridge’s IT standards, cybersecurity policies, and data governance frameworks.
- Validate that the delivered solution meets quality benchmarks and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
7. Training, Transition & Support Readiness:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive training and change management plan.
- Ensure operational readiness by coordinating handover to support teams and documenting support models.
- Monitor post-implementation performance and user adoption metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is an asset.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification required. Agile/Scrum certification is a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of delivering complex software implementations involving third-party vendors.
- Experience with optimization technologies, power systems, or energy trading platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet).
- Familiarity with system integration, data modeling, and cloud-based platforms.
