Headquartered in Pemberton, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) delivers a wide range of regional, sub-regional and local services to its residents. The SLRD is a BC Regional District consisting of four member municipalities (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Lillooet) and four electoral areas. Services include land use planning, solid waste management, building inspection, fire protection, emergency preparedness, 911 services, recreation, water and sewer utilities, regional transit, trails and open spaces as well as financial support for various community services. The region contains some of the most spectacular forests, waterways, and mountains in the province and affords an endless range of opportunities for outdoor adventure, making it an exceptional place to live, work and play.
The SLRD is seeking a collaborative and organized individual with excellent leadership and relationship- building skills to fill the position of Fire Services Manager. Reporting to the Director of Protective Services, the Fire Services Manager provides leadership and oversight for the administration, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of fire protection services across the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD).
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of recent progressive leadership experience in fire services, preferably in a regional or rural context and post-secondary education in Fire Service Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field. The salary range for this position is $104,978 - $118,154 annually. A comprehensive extended benefits package, participation in the Municipal Pension Plan, compressed work week (9-day fortnight), and professional development opportunities are also available.
