Brief Description CrossSafety is seeking a Human Resources professional to work within the corporate services group. Initially the role will work out of the Vaughan location and then transition to the Markham head office in 2026.

Position Summary The HR Manager supports the CEO and senior leadership team to manage HR for the organization. Responsibilities include policy and process development, full cycle recruitment including onboarding, performance management, employee relations matters, benefits and HR administration. This position reports to the CEO.

Some Key Responsibilities

  • HR Policy and Process Function
  • Maintain and update company’s HR policies and procedures, as warranted by regulatory changes and company experience.
  • Maintain, draft and update all employee contractual agreements liaising with outside legal.
  • HR Managerial Functions
  • Support Team Leads with staff development initiatives to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of company operations and services.
  • Coach Team Leads to ensure compliance with company HR policies and practices.
  • Talent Development, Recruitment & Performance Management
  • Support the full cycle recruitment process: sourcing to onboarding, focusing on attracting and retaining the best talent.
  • Prepare job descriptions, engagement surveys.
  • Leads the full performance management process
  • Employee Relations
  • Work with management to resolve employee concerns and performance issues.
  • Participate in the company’s internal health and safety committee as a management representative.
  • Facilitate and coordinate company investigations.
  • Work with management and external legal counsel in responding to employment related regulatory matters or litigation.
  • Benefits Administration
  • Collaborate with accounting team in administration of employee benefits programs.
  • Facilitate employee referrals to external employee assistance resources.
  • Liaise with external benefits and insurance plan agents and administrators to optimize the Company’s programs.
  • Monitor and ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to pension and benefits administration.
  • Miscellaneous
  • Opportunistic identification of expanded and new client servicing opportunities and communicating same to appropriate company personnel.
  • Analyze HR data and produce reports for management.
  • Performs other assigned duties consistent with the role to support senior management.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or business administration.
  • Completion of an HR certificate program.
  • CHRL or CHRP designation.
  • 3-5 years progressive people and culture experience with operations in Canada and USA.
  • Experience in building HR systems and programs from the ground up in a diverse and growing organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards legislation in Canada and USA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong talent development and team building skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
