Location: Ancaster, Ontario, Canada (onsite)
Salary Range: $32.81 - $41.38 per hour
Vacancy Type: Existing position
Schedule: Rotating day/afternoon/night shifts; overtime required
As our next Millwright Apprentice, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting the maintenance and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment across our manufacturing operations. Working under the supervision of certified Millwright Journeypersons, your hands‑on learning will be essential to building your technical expertise and supporting our commitment to reliable, safe, and efficient operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:
With guidance from qualified Journeypersons, you will:
- Support testing, repairing, installing, and calibrating equipment.
- Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, seals, and couplings alignment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and system improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Gain experience in welding, rigging, manlifts, chillers, and compressors.
- Learn and apply process documentation and related software.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to Johnson Electric’s policies, safety standards, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and environmental practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Apprenticeship Requirements:
- Complete Ontario Ministry apprenticeship training standards.
- Attend in‑class training as required; remainder of learning is on‑the‑job.
- Undergo regular progress evaluations—poor performance may result in removal from the program.
- Write the Provincial Exam within one year of apprenticeship completion.
What We’re Looking For:
- Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent—proof required for apprenticeship registration.
- Preferred: Post‑secondary diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electro‑Mechanical, or Fluid Power.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate clearly in writing and drawings.
- Knowledge of tooling systems and adaptors.
- Positive attitude, strong integrity, urgency, and results orientation.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience in welding, rigging, or mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, chillers, compressors, or manlift operation.
- Previous co‑op or internship experience in maintenance or manufacturing.
